OPERA COSTUMES BY COUTURE DESIGNERS.

After the critical acclaim they received for their couture designs for the opera 'Iris' staged for two years running, 1997 and 1998, by Opera Holland Park in London. www.operahollandpark.com the Lesters' were asked to design costumes for two comic operas which were staged at the Mayfair Theatre in London. The operas were Cindrillon and Viva la Mama. The director for these operas was Tom Hawkes. The costumes were then taken to Northampton for a production of Cindrillon and Viva la Mama by the same director.

These operas were costumed as a comic modern takeoff of contemporary British fashion designers work. This was a wonderful illustration of the Lester's designer versatility and craft as theatre costume design was a new and exciting departure from the London fashion scene.

During 2000 and 2001 The Swingle Singers, who are a young and vibrant group of acappella singers, were costumed by Charles and Patricia again showing the versatility of their collection.
